FAQ
If you cannot find the answer to your question in the FAQ below, please leave an issue on ARCeyeVLSDK Github or contact us at dl_ar@naverlabs.com.
Spatial Recognition
Spatial recognition keeps failing from the beginning.
This issue may occur due to the following reasons, and the solutions are as follows:
- Attempting to scan an area outside the ARC eye scanning range. →
Perform VL requests within the scanning range. - Using an incorrect Invoke URL that does not match the space. →
Perform VL requests in the designated space and check for typos in the Invoke URL and Secret Key. - GPS Guide area configuration error. →
Disable GPS Guide and proceed with testing. - VL Quality is set to High. →
Set VL Quality to Low and proceed with testing. - Network is not connected. →
Check the network connection.
Spatial recognition worked well initially but keeps failing afterward.
This issue may occur if the initial location was recognized incorrectly. Since spatial recognition attempts are based on the current location when sending requests, all subsequent requests may fail if the initial location was incorrect. Try moving to a different location and attempt spatial recognition again.
What should I do if the location is recognized incorrectly?
You can reset the VLSDK session. If the top of the device is facing downward, the VLSDKManager will automatically reset internally. Alternatively, you can reset the VLSDK session by calling ResetSession() in VLSDKManager.
Can I automatically detect if the location is recognized incorrectly?
Currently, there is no feature to detect if the location or space is recognized incorrectly.
Does it work well when the same space changes from day to night?
Yes, it works well. Although recognition accuracy may decrease if there are differences from the environment scanned with ARC eye, there is no issue in developing space-based AR services. However, if the space changes significantly and its visual features differ, recognition may fail. In such cases, you need to rescan the space.
Can I perform positioning using only GPS values?
No, both GPS and camera images are required for positioning.
I receive a 400 Bad Request response.
You may receive a 400 response if you send a request outside the scanning range. Please perform spatial recognition within the scanning range.
VL Requests
How many requests are sent per second?
By default, requests are sent every 500ms before spatial recognition and every 1000ms after spatial recognition. These values can be modified in the VLSDKSettings.asset file. The minimum request interval is 250ms.
What is the resolution of the images sent with requests?
Images with a long side of 640px are transmitted.
Are requests always sent while using the app?
Requests are periodically sent from the moment StartSession() in VLSDKManager is executed until specific conditions are met. The specific conditions are as follows:
- When
StopSession()is called. - When the device is tilted at an angle of 20 degrees or more vertically.
- Prevents unnecessary VL requests using images unsuitable for VL, such as ceilings or floors.
Package Installation
The message "'VLSDK.bundle' cannot be opened" is displayed, and an error message appears when entering Play mode.
This issue occurs when you download the ARCeyeVLSDK repository project from Github as a 'Download ZIP' file and run it on macOS. macOS's Gatekeeper operates to address security issues for executable files downloaded via a browser. You can resolve this issue using one of the following methods:
- Download the project using
git clone https://github.com/NaverCloudPlatform/ARCeyeVLSDK.git. - Enter the following command in the terminal:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine `${VLSDK project path}/Assets/VLSDK/Core/Plugins/OSX/VLSDK.bundle`
