VL

Using ARC eye's VL, you can calculate 6DOF in space using only image information. By following the precautions below when using VL, you can achieve higher accuracy 6DOF.

Avoid Excessive Movement

Move the device slowly so that the camera can accurately capture the image of the space before sending a VL request. If the device is moved quickly, as shown in the image below, the result may be blurry and distorted. Sending a VL request using such images may cause ARC eye to estimate the position based on the distorted image, resulting in incorrect results.

Be Cautious in Visually Similar Spaces

In spaces with high visual similarity, the VL recognition results may have significant errors compared to reality. If it is difficult for a person to distinguish the space, the error may be even greater. Try to capture spaces with clear and distinct features before sending a VL request.

note

VLSDK includes a feature to filter VL response results based on the current position. If the device is moved slowly to accurately recognize the space during the initial recognition phase, the user can freely use the device afterward while still achieving accurate 6DOF estimation.
